'm getting really bad vibes that they will do anything they can except the right and honorable thing, which is to have the Kia dealer put in a new engine with a warranty equal to what I still had on the car. So far, they've been investigating the obvious for three days, because when the vehicle was towed to the nearest service station, about half a dozen mechanics looked at it and said the oil filter was not seated properly and had vibrated loose to the point that it was barely still connected to the car. So far, their regional customer service contact has put me in a sedan that does not have the carrying capacity nor 4-wheel drive capability my personal and professional life require, and he had the nerve to ask me why I needed an SUV instead of a sedan. I had to be towed, and it turns out that the engine is ruined and must be replaced. I pulled over, but it was too late, and the engine stopped before I could turn the car off. 6, 2006, on my way to work (a distance of only 5 miles), the oil light came on. I had a Signature oil change done on my 2004 Kia Sorento, which had less than 20,000 miles on it and which had not one single mechanical problem in its history. He says he will not send out an investigator unless mechanic says where the oil went and who is at fault.Īll this took almost 4 months and i still waiting.I am thinking of taking car to dealer and have them check it too. Brandon was there and talked to District Manager, Ben. Call Jiffy Lube and tell them what I was told by mechanic. There is small tiny leak around a seal but that would not cause the massive lost of oil and the damage to engine. So I call Amoco and they come get car, they check it and say the bearings show alot of scarring caused by starving for oil, and alot of medel in the pan. I relay all that happened and he said take it to mechanic and have them determine who is at fault. Says it is tight and he clean and saw no leak. He says he from Jiffy Lube and he was checking the filter etc. I pull behind the Pontiac and the man is just getting out from under the car. Daughter calls and says a man is under the car about half hour later. When we got to my daughter's we left the car and went home. Called Jiffy Lube, talked to manager Brandon who said he will meet us there. Called tow truck and had it towed to daughters house as it was closer. Check the oil and all see is black gooy stuff. I go to Parley's Summit to get oil, just in case need. This was not my first trip to this location, but it was the worst experience there and was an indication why this shop was empty. All in all I would say the service I received did not measure up to all of the signage in the store touting how important service is to Jiffy Lube. Since these highly visible items were not done, I am suspect as to the "hidden things" having been done such as the fluid levels, air pressure in tires etc. On the Service Checklist I noted all of the items they claim to have performed: Vacuum Floors (not so), Wash Exterior Windows (not so), Check Wiper Blades (not so as the driver's side blade is seperated from the rubber). First the gross sales was $21.93 and not the advertised $19.99. When I returned to my office I looked at the bill and was surprised by several things I saw. After speaking to another employee he told me I was receiving a $2.00 discount for the filter, making the total $20.86. He began to prepare the bill and told me the total due was $22.86. I asked the serviceman if they had checked all of the fluid levels and he assured me they had. Approximately 15 minutes later they pulled my vehicle out of the stall and told me they were finished. He then pulled my vehicle into a stall but did not know where the engine was nor how to get to it. The serviceman promptly told me I would not receive a discount because the price was in the computer (?).
